Abex-Br gives strength and voice to Brazilian peanuts
Brazilian Peanut Association
We have existed since 2009, as a new version of the former ABEAESP, which recognized the need to update and reinvent itself to overcome the challenges that the peanut production chain has been facing.
Society is constantly changing; globalization has opened new doors for domestic and international trade. However, in contrast, it has also brought the real necessity for innovation, development, and research to make Brazilian peanuts more competitive. The competition is no longer with the neighbourhood but with competitors from all over the world. This includes large, well-structured growers/producers, exporters, processors, and manufacturers, who are supported and guided by strong and traditional sectoral representation entities, such as American and Argentine associations.
In this scenario of fierce competitiveness, unity is crucial for the mutual growth of all links in the peanut production chain, as we depend on each other to grow and conquer new markets. For these reasons, in 2021, we reinvented ourselves and built a new model of collaborative engagement to stand up to other foreign associations, such as the Argentine and American ones.
High Representativeness of Members within the Sector

In 2024, our members exported
59,633 tons
of peanut oil.

Representing
97,2% of national export of this product.

Additionally
176.578,15 tons
of peanuts kernels.

Which is equivalent to
77,6% of the national export volume.
We do our best for the entire peanut production chain.

Unity through association lends legitimacy to demands and gives voice to the peanut production chain.
Associativism matters because, together, we can identify challenges, develop solutions, and advocate for public policies that foster a favorable market environment for the entire peanut production chain.
Peanut’s chain unity via association legitimizes claims and amplifies its voice.
Representativeness is key: the more stakeholders (individuals or legal entities) we represent, the greater Abex-Br’s relevance and influence.
